Incorporating “Images of Our Time” Art Gallery
It’s not often you can sit down to dine with the likes of James Dean, David Bowie, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Raquel Welch, Princess Dianna and even the Queen gazing down at you. The Elephant & Castle Hotel has established itself as one of Geelong’s major attractions due to its stunning refurbishment and home to one of the country’s most prized photographic collections: “Images of Our Time”. Locally born Former Mayor Darryn Lyons has opened up his private collection. His permanent exhibition features over 120 iconic photographs adorning the walls of the bistro and function rooms including a current Exhibition upstairs to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen which is now open to the public with free entry.
New Chef – New Winter Menu
The team at The Elephant and Castle have just launched their new Autumn menu. Sam Winchcomb, an inspiring young chef who has returned to Geelong after working in Europe has continued the Elephant’s love affair with using fresh produce from Geelong and surrounding region. The hotel offers fantastic lunch and dinner dining seven days a week in both the restaurant and public bar and the diversity of the menu will suit everyone from vegans to hungry seafood and steak lovers. The $12 lunch specials Monday to Friday are very popular plus there is a great Kids Menu with meals just $10 including a free soft drink.
So whatever your reason, get down to the Elephant and Castle Hotel to view an amazing array of photography, enjoy some fine food or have a drink at the bar.
Live acoustic music every Friday from 7.30pm and Sundays from 4pm, cover bands play every Saturday night from 9pm.
