On 93 Hectares of coastal farmland in Wallington, you will find Oakdene’s boutique vineyard, cellar door, Marty@Oakdene restaurant and Mr Grubb Café. It’s just a 20 minute drive east of Geelong on the Bellarine Peninsula. Oakdene specialises in varieties best suited to the region: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. The range includes both still and sparkling wines.
Dedication in the vineyard and the winery have produced elegant and complex wines that have produced immediate results. The wines have been awarded medals and trophies at major wine shows and a red, five star rating with Halliday’s Wine Companion, again in 2017. Come along and enjoy guided wine tastings while browsing the unique Up-side-down house cellar door. There are also estate grown, extra virgin olive oils to try, chocolate for wine and other gifts to browse.
A visit to Oakdene would not be complete without dining at Marty @ Oakdene, the newly named restaurant that is situated in the 1920’s homestead. Marty offers an exciting new contemporary menu of seasonal, local and regional produce, the perfect place to match the estate-grown wines. Marty @ Oakdene also boasts private dining rooms and a spectacular garden.
Another dining option at Oakdene is the café, Mr Grubb@ Oakdene. Mr Grubb is nestled among a mass of birch trees and offers a casual, relaxed atmosphere and menu. There is something for everyone, everything from burgers, gourmet pizzas and salads to premium steaks and share plates.
