One of Lara’s oldest historic buildings; The Lake Bank Hotel (circa 1860) was constructed for Scottish immigrant James Henderson and operated as a licensed hotel until 1908.
Experience how people lived their daily lives in a bygone era through a multitude of displays, memorabilia and historic items from the past including photographs, clothing, old tools, crockery and much more. Explore the local pastoral history through the wool and farming exhibit, see the bakery which houses the original oven where bread was baked for the hotel, wander the beautiful gardens or enjoy a cuppa and a chat with the passionate and friendly volunteers.
Open Wednesday and Sunday 11am-4pm (Coffee shop open Sundays). Entry is $3.00 per person. Children under 16 are free.
